Summary of the process

The Ink and Paint process is made up of the following two lines of production:

This is shown graphically in The production process. Note that you must first scan your drawings and image process them; only then can you start the Ink and Paint process.

Color styling

The first step in color styling is for your color stylists to:

This holds one or more drawings, to demonstrate how to color the level(s); and one or more palettes of ink and paint, which you'll use to do the coloring.

Then they must:

Initially, each model only needs to have a single example drawing, and a single palette. You can add extra drawings and palettes to the model later on, or change the colors in its palettes; this won't undo any of your ink and paint department's work.

Inking and painting drawings

For your ink and paint department to start their work on a level:

Your ink and paint department choose colors from a palette in the color reference model, using the example drawings as guidelines; they then apply the colors to the drawings' ink and paint regions. They can instead have Animo 2.0 automatically paint a drawing; they simply choose another already-painted drawing in a similar pose (e.g. the previous drawing), for Animo 2.1 to use as a guideline.
